JAMES PETERSON
Biography
James Peterson was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Irvine, California. He began his study of music at age nine playing the trumpet. He continued his music studies at the prestigious UCLA School of Music where he studied film scoring with the great David Raksin. James has written music for over 80 television commercials, 72 episodes of the syndicated television series Ron Hazelton’s House Calls and has composed scores for 13 films, 6 ballets, and 3 concert works, including "Moving Images Suite" performed by the Prague FILMharmonic Orchestra. James was awarded Best Feature Soundtrack for The Red Canvas at the Action on Film International Film Festival and was nominated for the Jerry Goldsmith Award at the V Ubeda Festival in Spain. He currently lives in Santa Monica with his wife Kathy and their three cats, Mongo, Chicken, and Swen.
