Christopher Lennertz is a composer, producer, conductor, and arranger for film, television, video games, and records. He was born in a small town north of Boston, in the same area as one of his heroes, famed American composer Leonard Bernstein. He then moved to Easton, Pennsylvania, where he began his musical training at age 9. After studying composition, jazz arranging, and theory in high school, Mr. Lennertz moved to California to study at USC’s Thornton School of Music with Academy-Award winner Elmer Bernstein, Buddy Baker, Christopher Young, and David Raksin. He has worked with such artists as Basil Poledouris, Michael Kamen, Mark Mancina, Ozomatli, The RZA, and Alien Ant Farm.
He won an Interactive Academy Award in 2004 for Medal of Honor: Rising Sun from EA, was nominated again in 2006 for Activision’s Gun, and was also nominated last year for an Emmy Award for his music on the Warner Brother’s series Supernatural, produced by McG.
Recently, he has written scores for The Comebacks, Alvin and the Chipmunks and Marmaduke for Fox, spoof comedies Meet The Spartans and Disaster Movie, acclaimed drama Adam and Warner Bros’ Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore and Looney Tunes 3D: Coyote Falls.
