TROND BJERKNES
Biography

Trond Bjerknes, born 1958, is a Norwegian composer who lives in Oslo. He started playing piano at the age of five and wrote his first music at the age of six. After high school, and several jazz and rock bands, he started to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Staying in the US for five years, he came back to Oslo and started his own music production company, writing and producing music primarily for commercials. Hollywood based director Harald Zwart was one of his many clients and after scoring Harald's short films, Trond was hired to score his first feature film Hamilton featuring Lena Olin, Mark Hamill and Peter Stormare. One assignment lead to another and today, Trond is a full time movie and TV drama composer with extensive experience. He works in the Scandinavian countries and was in 2008 nominated for best Score for the film Cecilie in the Danish Robert award. Trond is also a member of the European Film Academy.
