JORGE ARRIAGADA
Biography
Born in Santiago, Chile, 1943, Jorge Arriagada studied composition and orchestra conducting in Chile. In 1967 he went to France with a fellowship, and in 1970 he founded the Studio de Musique Expérimentale du Centre Américain in Paris. During the early 70s he was working at the studios of GMEB - Groupe de Musiques Expérimentales de Bourges, France, and he went also to Stanford University, in the United States, to study computer music. Then he devoted mainly to film music composition. Arriagada has scored over 80 feature films, including Barbet Schroeder's Our Lady of the Assassins and acclaimed documentaries It's All True and Terror's Advocate. He has worked extensively with Klimt director Raoul Ruiz, scoring films such as Le temps retrouvé, Comedy of Innocence and Shattered Image.
